Job Description
<h3>π Description</h3> β’ Hume AI is seeking talented AI researchers interested in working with our team to build state-of-the-art speech-language models (SLMs).
β’ Our new SLM training methodβreinforcement learning from human expression (RLHE)βlearns human preferences from behavior in millions of audio and video recordings, making SLMs superhumanly helpful, interesting, funny, eloquent, honest, and altruistic.
β’ Join us in the heart of New York City and contribute to our endeavor to ensure that AI is guided by human values, the most pivotal challenge (and opportunity) of the 21st century.
β’ Hume AI is dedicated to building artificial intelligence that is directly optimized for human well-being.
β’ We raised a Series B funding round in 2024 and just launched the beta of our next flagship AI model, EVI 3, a foundational speech-language model that drives an empathic AI assistant for any application.
β’ Our models understand subtle tones of voice, word emphasis, facial expression, and more, along with the reactions of listeners.
β’ EVI 3 uses the same intelligence to handle transcription, language, and speech, understands and responds with the expressive, emotionally intelligent voice in real time β using any voice and personality you create with a prompt.
β’ Our goal is to enable a future in which technology draws on an understanding of human emotional expression to better serve human goals.
β’ As part of our mission, we also conduct groundbreaking scientific research, publish in leading scientific journals. <h3>π― Requirements</h3> β’ Expertise in the Python ecosystem and popular ML libraries and tools (e.g. PyTorch)
β’ Experience writing robust and maintainable production-ready code
β’ Comfort iterating quickly on new and uncertain research directions
β’ 2+ years of experience contributing to the training and/or fine-tuning of models with large-scale datasets of text, audio, image, and/or video data (predictive or generative)
