We’re now building an iconic brand—and we need a standout creative partner to help bring it to life on video.

We’re looking for a contract-based Art Director / Video Lead to own end-to-end video creation for our marketing and product storytelling. You’ll conceptualize, shoot, direct, and edit videos that communicate the power and emotion behind Retell’s AI voice agents—across product launches, case studies, social media, recruiting, and campaigns.

This is a contractor role based at our San Carlos HQ. You’ll work closely with the founders, product marketing, and design team to bring ideas to life and shape Retell’s visual voice.

What You’ll Do

  • Concept and storyboard video content for product launches, customer stories, and brand campaigns
  • Direct and shoot live-action content at our HQ (team interviews, demos, product shoots, behind-the-scenes)
  • Edit and produce high-quality videos optimized for web, social, and paid channels
  • Build a repeatable visual system and editing style for Retell videos
  • Own the video production process end to end—gear, lighting, sound, post-production
  • Collaborate with designers, PMMs, and the founding team to push creative direction
  • Optionally lead or coordinate freelance crews or vendors as needed for larger shoots
  • Have 3–7+ years of experience directing and editing high-quality video content (agency or brand side)
  • Can own every step of production, from camera setup to final color grading
  • Have strong instincts for storytelling, pacing, and visual identity
  • Are experienced with motion graphics, title cards, and simple animation
  • Are comfortable directing founders, customers, and team members on camera
  • Are highly organized, resourceful, and thrive in fast-moving environments
  • Are based in the Bay Area and available to work onsite in San Carlos regularly
  • Experience working in startups, tech, or AI
  • Familiarity with tools like Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, Figma
  • Experience with TikTok-style vertical videos or cinematic B2B storytelling
  • You’re obsessed with lighting, camera gear, or color correction—we love that
  • Shape the visual voice of one of the fastest-growing AI startups
