We’re looking for a founding designer (first design hire) to come build with us in-person in San Francisco. You'll work across our entire product surface and shape design at Circleback. Circleback is loved and used by thousands of people every day. We're a small team that deeply values product design and craft with surface areas across the web, our desktop and mobile apps, emails, and more. We’re growing fast and looking for a founding designer to help us continue to make the product better every week. As the founding designer, you will: Design best-in-class experiences to help teams get the most out of every meeting from the ground up, from concept to pixel-perfect execution Deeply understand customer problems and find elegant ways to solve them Think through, and design patterns to organize information that feels effortless to find and make use of Find ways to simplify complex user journeys and keep Circleback simple to use Iterate quickly on product changes for experiments around onboarding, activation, and education Establish systems and building blocks that enables the rest of the team to ship quickly without compromising on quality or introducing inconsistencies Create and refine messaging, brand visuals (ad variants, billboards, merch, etc.), landing page improvements, blog layouts Work directly with the founders and team to build a best-in-class product You’ll be successful if you: Build things for fun Love your craft, notice details in the world, and are curious about how things work Understand that best product experiences are often invisible Irked by things not working properly or as well as they could Move fast and don’t get attached to an idea or process (strong opinions, loosely held) Interested in the challenge of making powerful tools without compromising simplicity Can keep a broad set of customer perspectives in mind Bonus if you: Code (we don’t expect you to ship production code but we value having a technical understanding) Use Circleback (we have a free trial) Please include a link to your portfolio or something you’ve built if you can.
