At Toma, we’re building something unorthodox—a fully AI-driven platform reshaping how 18,000 car dealerships operate nationwide. Our small team (from ex-Scale AI/Uber founders who’ve never owned cars, to a pro Valorant player, robotics champion, motocross racer, and more) spent months living and breathing the space to learn the ropes. We're building the AI platform for underserved industries. LLM usage has seen a meteoric rise in the past year, but there is still a significant gap between agentic innovation and its use in the real world. This is especially true for underserved industries like automotive and healthcare, where outdated systems persist due to barriers to entry, legacy software, and high-stakes consequences of hallucinations and failure. Here at Toma (YC W24), we are bridging this gap by providing a customer-centric platform to deploy and monitor AI agents, even for non-technical users. We recently raised a $17M Series A from a16z and are building the future of human-AI interactions, starting in the automotive industry. Our Team We’re assembling a team of Avengers: engineers, product managers, former founders, athletes, and leaders from Scale AI, Uber, Braze, Microsoft, Amazon, and more. We consider everyone regardless of their backgrounds or identities. Learn more about us here. This role is in-person in our SF office, 5 days a week. About this role Toma is looking for a creative, hands-on content creator to become our Founding Growth Specialist. You’ll create videos, posts, and moments that capture our founding team’s weird brilliance, chaotic genius, and occasional existential crises, then turn that into magnetic content that makes the world’s best talent say: “I have to work there.” This is not a “sit quietly in the corner and make corporate fluff” internship. We want smart, funny, slightly contrarian work that pushes boundaries, has an actual point of view, and still looks crisp enough that people assume we paid way more for it than we did. You’ll work in-person at our San Francisco HQ (we have couches you can crash on too), embedded with the team like a friendly spy, catching both planned and unplanned magic on camera. Think “Cluely content creator,” but somewhat more serious. What you will do Own content end-to-end: Ideate → script → film → edit → publish short-form videos, carousels, and platform-native posts (LinkedIn, X, YouTube Shorts, etc.). Capture Toma in the wild: Interview founders, crash meetings, film product debates, and snag those unrepeatable candid moments. Build the employer brand: Role spotlights, “day in the life” clips, behind-the-scenes product convos, and candidate FAQs… ultimately film stuff that captures Toma’s culture. Experiment constantly: Test hooks, formats, and thumbnails like a mad scientist; share your findings, double down on the hits. Run the content cadence: Ship 3–5 high-quality, high-impact pieces every week; repurpose winners across multiple formats. Track your chaos: Measure reach, engagement, and, most importantly, how many top candidates your work convinces to apply. That’s the scoreboard. Preferred Qualifications Taste and polish: A sharp eye for what “good” looks like in video, copy, and thumbnails. Full-stack maker energy: You can take a half-baked idea and turn it into a fully-baked, viral piece of content. Curiosity with teeth: You can get a teammate to spill the story in a 20-minute chat and spot the soundbite gold. Creative courage: You pitch original, surprising ideas and defend them like they’re your own startup. Audience empathy: You understand startup and engineering culture, and you’re allergic to words like ‘generic, ‘basic’, ‘plain’. In-person vibe: You like being in the room where it happens, not on Zoom wondering if you’re muted.
