Job Description

VetRec is an AI Scribe for Veterinarians. We help veterinary professionals automate all their clinical documentation workflows and save ~2 hours per day per doctor.

The burnout, stress, and high churn of veterinary professionals is real. We are laser-focused on our mission to empower veterinary professionals to work more efficiently through software that enhances patient care and promotes a healthier work-life balance. It all starts with our flagship product, the AI Scribe.

We are a fast-growing team. Founders are ex-Microsoft who built large-scale big-data, communications, and AI platforms. We have members of our team who were ex-founders in the pet space and some who were veterinary professionals in the past!

We are rapidly growing. Adding animal clinics and hospitals across the US, Canada, and the world.

  • You get excited and take pride in working on something that is changing people's lives for the better.
  • You are energetic, willing to put in the work and enjoy the fast-paced nature of a startup.
  • You love animals and are familiar - or want to get deeply familiarized - with the veterinary medicine industry.
  • As an early-stage member of the team, you get to influence the product, the direction of the company, hiring, and the forming of new teams. We are looking for our first business representative in Australia.

This person will work closely with our head of business development in getting a strong presence in the Australian market. From sales, to initial customer account management.

This is a 100% Australia-based position.

Our values

  • Get s* done: We are a fast-paced team, shipping features daily, and onboarding clinics and hospitals of all types and sizes daily.
  • Transparency: We believe in absolute honesty amongst our team and customers.
  • Grit: Competing in an evolving market means going above and beyond for our customers and fighting on behalf of them every day.
  • Customers, customers, customers: Did we already mention customers? They are the lifeblood of our business, without them we don’t exist.
  • Over-communication > under-communication: As a small, fast paced team, communication is vital. We look for team members that will keep things moving and constantly update the team as needed. What will you be doing:

As our first Sales & Customer Success hire in Australia, you’ll play a mission-critical role in expanding VetRec’s presence and impact across the region. This is a high-impact, cross-functional position that blends enterprise sales, high-touch onboarding, and strategic customer success, while working directly with VetRec’s Head of Business Development.

You will:

  • Manage the full sales cycle, from outbound outreach and product demos to closing deals, with independent clinics, specialty hospitals, and corporate groups.
  • Deliver high-touch onboarding and ensure successful implementation, enabling customers to see value fast.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to your accounts, proactively identifying opportunities to expand usage and maximize retention.
  • Solve problems independently and collaboratively, whether it’s a clinical workflow issue or a technical roadblock.
  • Collect and triage customer feedback, distilling insights for the product and engineering teams.
  • Represent VetRec at industry conferences and customer visits throughout Australia.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to localize and refine VetRec’s go-to-market playbook for the Australian and broader APAC market. Who do we want

You’re a strong communicator with clinical insight and commercial instincts. Whether you’ve worked as a veterinary nurse, technician, practice manager, or in a customer-facing role at a veterinary SaaS company, you intuitively understand how VetRec’s technology can improve both patient care and clinical operations.

Someone who shares the values that we share. Someone who constantly raises the bar, is proactive, has grit and determination, and can get s* done. We are a fast-growing startup and as such, we work very hard (also celebrate every win!). Our team puts 10 hours a day on average into building this company. While there is not a specific time commitment as project-based outcomes > time-based ones, there is a sense of urgency to iterate and deliver constantly.

You’re a strong fit if:

  • You’re a problem-solver who’s comfortable thinking on your feet and navigating nuanced clinical and business conversations.

  • You’ve worked in customer-facing roles (sales, onboarding, support, or training), ideally in veterinary or SaaS.

  • You can earn trust quickly and build long-term relationships with practice owners, veterinarians, and support staff.

  • You’re confident presenting to both clinical and operational stakeholders and can tailor your pitch to diverse audiences.

  • You’re organized, independent, and thrive in environments where you wear multiple hats. Specifically for this role:

  • Deep familiarity with how veterinary practices operate, from the front desk to the surgery suite

  • Experience with veterinary software (e.g., PIMS)

  • Confidence navigating multi-stakeholder buying processes at both independent and corporate practices

  • A humble, curious mindset and passion for improving the veterinary profession

  • You’re excited to be part of something early and are ready to own both strategy and execution as we build a regional presence. VetRec is an equal-opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, height, weight, veteran status, military obligations, or marital status.
