Senior Backend Software Engineer at Stream

At Stream, we’re tackling a massive problem head-on: slashing the time, cost, and frustration of handling the 10+ billion pages of medical documents bogging down the workers’ comp industry. Our mission is to build smart, AI-driven solutions that free up professionals to focus on what matters—delivering results, not drowning in paperwork. We are a YC S22 batch Insurtech startup based in SF.

Stream’s Mission: Cut the time, cost, and hassle of managing 10B+ medical documents in workers’ comp, so professionals can focus on results, not paperwork.

We’re growing fast and are looking to bring on a Senior Backend Engineer to scale our platform and elevate our product, ensuring top-notch service for our customers.

The Job: As a backend software engineer you are expected to deploy to production on a daily basis, as well as help build the engineering culture and processes in a growing team.

In This Role, You Will:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend systems

• Deploy code to production daily, ensuring continuous delivery and rapid iteration

• Work with AI models, including LLMs and embedding models, to integrate them seamlessly into our backend systems

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and operations, to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs Our Tech Stack Includes:

• Serverless computing with AWS Lambdas and Fargate (Python)

• CDK and GitHub actions for CI/CD

• DynamoDB and Redshift for data storage

• Svelt (Typescript) + SST for web applications
