<h3>πŸ“‹ Description</h3> β€’ This role is categorized as remote. β€’ The Sr Data Scientist – AV Safety will drive development and evaluation of autonomous vehicle (AV) performance KPIs ranging from straightforward to advanced machine learning outputs. β€’ This position is part of the Safety Assurance for Effective Autonomous Driving Software (SAFE-ADS) department in the Global Product Safety, System, and Certification (GPSSC) organization. β€’ The SAFE-ADS department serves as the central body for automated driving system (ADS) safety. β€’ GM’s vision is zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion – AV safety is at the heart of driving forward this vision. β€’ The ideal candidate will be an expert in data science, statistical modeling, and data development across the entire data maturity curve. β€’ They will have experience in automative, safety, and/or robotic industries. β€’ They will be a self-starter and comfortable solving ambiguous problems. β€’ As a member of the SAFE-ADS data science team, you will focus on scaling data science work and accelerating time-to-delivery in insights related to autonomous vehicle performance and safety measurement. β€’ You'll play a key role in advancing GM's AV quantitative risk assessment efforts. β€’ Your work will contribute to enhancing and scaling our existing safety risk assessment framework a foundational component of the overall safety case that guides decision-making across the entire AV technology stack. <h3>🎯 Requirements</h3> β€’ Bachelor's degree in engineering or science discipline (advanced degree preferred) with a strong focus on statistics, probability, and data Science β€’ 5+ years of experience in Data Science in a corporate setting β€’ Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning and/or deep learning techniques β€’ Expertise generating insights from multiple large-scale datasets β€’ Experience in safety, automotive, or robotics data science β€’ Proficiency SQL, Python, and Spark β€’ Experience with data visualization tools and techniques β€’ Collaborative team player and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders β€’ Strong business consulting skills; ability to evaluate the big picture and solve strategic business problems <h3>πŸ–οΈ Benefits</h3> β€’ GM offers a variety of health and wellbeing benefit programs. β€’ Benefit options include medical, dental, vision, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Accounts, retirement savings plan, sickness and accident benefits, life insurance, paid vacation & holidays, tuition assistance programs, employee assistance program, GM vehicle discounts and more.
