Brainbase is to AI workers what Retool is to internal tools.
We envision a future where every company has an AI workforce working alongside their human team. Brainbase enables businesses to create those AI Employees.
We’ve scaled to $XM+ ARR in revenue in one year, and are looking to reach $XXM+ ARR in revenue in the next 6 months. Our customers range from SMBs to Fortune 50s. We’ve raised a seed round from YC, 500 Global and other top tier firms, with participation from the founders of Youtube and Hubspot, as well as many top YC alumni.
As a Technical Customer Success Manager, your primary responsibility is ensuring the success of our enterprise customers as they deploy Brainbase at scale. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that requires technical expertise, resourcefulness, excellent communication skills, and comfort under pressure.
You will be our customer’s expert and advocate — overseeing custom deployments for everyone from government agencies to airlines to private equity.
Day to day you will be customizing and deploying Brainbase for a diverse set of use cases, building Based flows (docs), deploying microservices, prompt engineering, talking with prospective, new, and existing customers, and communicating customer feedback to the rest of the team. You will work directly with the engineering & sales team and CEO.
You will also work closely with our partners and sales team as their technical point of contact.
We think you should apply if the following sounds like you:
💻 Must haves
US work permit (we do not currently sponsor H1-Bs, OPTs are fine)
Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex technical topics in a clear and concise way.
Experience in NodeJS, Python, AWS, & Typescript.
Comfortable programming and deploying basic backend services, such as a basic CRUD API or microservice.
Previous experience in a customer-facing role
Some experience with LLMs (OpenAI API, Langchain/LangGraph, HuggingFace, etc.)
Demonstration of autonomy and entrepreneurial spirit (side projects, previous companies, software consulting) 💻 Good to haves
Proficiency in AWS, cloud deployment, CI/CD
Experience with micro-service based architecture
Machine learning research experience
Previous experience in a customer-facing engineering/deployment role
Previous consulting experience
Previous startup experience
🧠 Why should I join Brainbase and not start my own startup?
If you’re accepted into our team, there is no question that we believe you’re capable of running your company. In fact you can be sure that we have all the faith in you that you’ll probably start your own unicorn at some point. But startups are (famously) hard, and it’s usually good practice to see how a good one is run before you start your own. This is truer than ever with the current AI boom, where you really want to see what sets a great AI company from a mediocre one.
As a founding member of our team, you’ll get to experience all the great parts of being a founder (autonomy, talking to customers, shipping, culture creation) without any of the overhead (fundraising, operations, taxes). In the end, if you choose to leave to start your own journey, we’ll do everything we can to support you. 🧠 Why should I join Brainbase and not start my own startup?

If you’re in doubt, and satisfy the Must Have’s from above, you should apply. We love having exceptional people join our team in any capacity and we might end up seeing something in you that you don’t yet yourself. 🧠 I’d like to join, but I don’t think I’m founding engineer material

We vary the application process based on what we can already gather from your resume and previous experiences but you should expect (1) a screening phone/zoom call, (2) a take home here you’ll write a Based flow (docs) (3) A follow up with our Chief of Staff and Head of Engineering and (4) Final interview with our CEO. 🧠 What’s the application process like?

Our tech stack is divided into two sectors as building the interfaces for businesses to manage their workflows and developing the AI models that run automations.
For our interfaces, we work on the familiar stack of NextJS/React/TypeScript, with MongoDB as our database. We use Tailwind CSS for our styling.
Our backend is dockerized and runs on AWS servers and serverless instances, written in a combination of Node and Python.
For our development, we work with large-language models, primarily in Python, with Pytorch as our preferred ML framework.
