About the Role

Amazon is hiring an AI Content Expert II to create and annotate complex multimodal training data for improving Large Language Models. This fixed-term contractual role involves making high-judgment decisions, working with scientists and engineers, and ensuring data quality across text, image, and video content. The position requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with ambiguous information.

Key Responsibilities

• Creating and annotating high-quality complex training data in multiple modalities (text, image, video)
• Writing grammatically correct texts in different styles with various degrees of creativity
• Performing audits and quality checks of tasks completed by other specialists
• Making sound judgments and logical decisions when faced with ambiguous or incomplete information
• Identifying and reporting tooling bugs and suggesting improvements

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience
• 2+ years of experience working with written language data, including annotation and data markup
• Strong research skills to gather relevant information and understand complex topics
• Excellent attention to details and ability to focus for long periods

Nice to Have:

• Strong proficiency in English (C1 level CEFR)
• Experience with creating complex data for LLM training and evaluation
• Strong understanding of U.S.-based culture, society, and norms
• Comfortable with high-school level STEM
• Familiarity with common markup languages (HTML, XML, Markdown)
• Familiarity with common text formats (JSON, CSV, RTF)
• Working knowledge of Python or another scripting language
• Familiarity with regular expressions syntax
• Familiarity with Large Language Models
