This AI Specialist role at Meta involves technical leadership in product and applied research, focusing on advancing intelligent machine technology. Responsibilities include developing novel architectures, mentoring AI engineers, and driving technical direction while collaborating across scientific and engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Help advance the science and technology of intelligent machines
• Develop custom/novel architectures and define use cases with methodology & benchmarks
• Technically lead across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines in team environment
• Mentor other AI Engineers and improve quality of AI work in broader team
• Influence research communities by producing publications and establish cross-functional partnerships

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Specialized experience in machine learning/deep learning domains (NLP, reinforcement learning, deep learning, etc.)
• Experience developing language algorithms or language infrastructure in C/C++ or Python

Nice to Have:

• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field
• 4+ years of work experience post PhD in AI research role
• 4+ years of experience as technical lead for projects of 4+ individuals
• First author publications experience at peer-reviewed AI conferences
