About the Role

The Analytics Engineer will build the data foundation for product and marketing at Descript, an AI-powered audio/video editing platform. This early data team member will design data models, create marketing pipelines, and collaborate cross-functionally to provide actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize robust data models for reporting, analysis, and experimentation
• Spearhead creation of advanced marketing pipelines for customer segmentation and campaign optimization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine metrics and build intuitive dashboards
• Standardize, monitor, and document data assets to ensure data integrity and consistency

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 7+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or Data Analytics
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and dbt
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate business needs into work items
• Extensive experience with prosumer and/or enterprise SaaS products
