About the Role

Amazon is seeking an Applied Scientist II to advance generative AI and foundational models. The role involves developing novel algorithms, working with large-scale data, and building Agentic AI solutions. You will impact millions of customers through innovative AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques for generative AI
• Work with heterogeneous speech, text, image, and structured data sources
• Build innovative solutions using Agentic AI to impact customers
• Collaborate with AI/ML practitioners, applied scientists, and engineers
• Research and advance state-of-the-art in generative AI and foundational models

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• PhD or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML, or related field experience
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related language
• Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, or high-performance computing

Nice to Have:

• Experience using Unix/Linux
• Experience in professional software development
