About the Role

The Applied Scientist II role at Amazon Connect involves researching and developing generative AI technology for cloud-based contact centers. You will work on cutting-edge AI innovation, building ML models from conception to deployment, and solving complex engineering and scientific problems. This position requires expertise in machine learning, natural language processing, and LLM agents.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and develop generative AI technology for Amazon Connect contact center
• Work closely with senior technical and business leaders across AWS
• Distill insights from large datasets and conduct cutting-edge research
• Build ML models from conception to deployment using PyTorch/TensorFlow
• Design and deliver scalable, resilient systems for next-generation contact centers

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• PhD or Master's degree with 4+ years in CS, CE, ML or related field
• Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

Nice to Have:

• Experience using Unix/Linux
• Experience in professional software development
