About the Role

The Applied Scientist II role involves developing and deploying machine learning solutions to optimize Amazon's international consumer businesses. You will work on scalable ML models, analyze large datasets, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement real-time solutions. This position focuses on solving real-world problems to enhance customer experience and drive business growth in emerging markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Use machine learning and analytical techniques to create scalable solutions for business problems
• Design, develop, evaluate and deploy innovative and highly scalable ML models
• Work closely with software engineering teams to drive real-time model implementations
• Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses and model maintenance
• Lead projects and mentor other scientists and engineers in the use of ML techniques

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 3+ years of building models for business application experience
• PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

Nice to Have:

• Experience in state-of-the-art deep learning models architecture design and deep learning training and optimization and model pruning
• Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment
