About the Role

Applied Scientist II role developing AI models for Microsoft's Intelligent Conversation and Communications Cloud (IC3) to enhance Teams and real-time communication products. Responsibilities include designing ML systems, building pipelines, and shipping production code while collaborating with audio signal processing experts. This onsite role requires 2+ years ML experience and relevant education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with AI researchers and audio signal processing experts to design end-to-end ML systems
  • Design and develop ML pipelines involving data cleaning, feature engineering, model training, and evaluation
  • Work across product lifecycle from prototyping to shipping production-grade code
  • Update deployed models based on A/B testing
  • Remain up to date with latest advancements and contribute to IP portfolio

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field AND 2+ years related experience
  • OR Master's Degree in same fields AND 1+ year related experience
  • OR Doctorate in same fields OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience in development/deployment of machine learning algorithms
  • Ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements

Nice to Have:

  • 1+ year experience creating publications (patents, peer-reviewed papers)
  • Experience explaining complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience contributing code to production systems or shipped products
  • Experience building and maintaining production-grade ML pipelines
