About the Role
Applied Scientist II role developing AI models for Microsoft's Intelligent Conversation and Communications Cloud (IC3) to enhance Teams and real-time communication products. Responsibilities include designing ML systems, building pipelines, and shipping production code while collaborating with audio signal processing experts. This onsite role requires 2+ years ML experience and relevant education.Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with AI researchers and audio signal processing experts to design end-to-end ML systems
- Design and develop ML pipelines involving data cleaning, feature engineering, model training, and evaluation
- Work across product lifecycle from prototyping to shipping production-grade code
- Update deployed models based on A/B testing
- Remain up to date with latest advancements and contribute to IP portfolio
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field AND 2+ years related experience
- OR Master's Degree in same fields AND 1+ year related experience
- OR Doctorate in same fields OR equivalent experience
- 2+ years experience in development/deployment of machine learning algorithms
- Ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements
Nice to Have:
- 1+ year experience creating publications (patents, peer-reviewed papers)
- Experience explaining complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience contributing code to production systems or shipped products
- Experience building and maintaining production-grade ML pipelines
