About the Role

The Applied Scientist role involves developing and deploying machine learning solutions to optimize Amazon's operations in India and other emerging markets. Responsibilities include building scalable ML models, analyzing large datasets, and collaborating with engineering teams to implement solutions. The position focuses on solving real-world business problems to enhance customer experience and drive profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Use machine learning and analytical techniques to create scalable solutions for business problems
• Design, develop, evaluate, and deploy innovative and highly scalable ML models
• Work closely with software engineering teams to drive real-time model implementations
• Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analyses and model maintenance
• Lead projects and mentor other scientists and engineers in the use of ML techniques

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related language
• Experience with SQL and an RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) or Data Warehouse
• Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application

Nice to Have:

• Experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code
• Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
