About the Role

The Applied Scientist role focuses on developing and deploying advanced machine learning systems for Amazon's Seller Fees organization. Responsibilities include architecting transformer-based models, implementing multimodal LLMs for fee determination, and building production-scale generative AI systems. This position involves solving complex problems at the intersection of deep learning, economics, and large-scale transaction processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Design measurable and scalable science solutions for global adoption
• Integrate AI into compound agentic workflows to transform business systems
• Develop large-scale classification and prediction models using text, image, and customer interaction features
• Research and implement novel machine learning, statistical, and econometrics approaches
• Write high-quality code and implement scalable models within production systems

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience with SQL and an RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) or Data Warehouse

Nice to Have:

• Experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code
• Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
