About the Role

Senior Data Architect role at AWS Professional Services designing and implementing large-scale, complex data and analytics solutions on AWS. Responsibilities include leading project teams, providing technical guidance, and acting as a trusted advisor to customers on cloud migration and modernization strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading project teams to design and implement end-to-end large-scale Data & Analytics AWS solutions
  • Providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout project delivery
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective Data & Analytics migration strategies
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to customers on industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Sharing knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, and creating reusable artifacts

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and implementation
  • 8+ years of experience leading technical teams with hands-on data or software engineering experience
  • 8+ years of experience designing and building scalable, highly available data solutions including ETL/ELT pipelines
  • 5+ years proficiency in SQL, Python, and at least one additional programming language (Java, Scala, etc.)

Nice to Have:

  • AWS experience with proficiency in a wide range of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)
  • AWS Professional level certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional)
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Terraform, Python)
  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR)
  • Strong experience with distributed frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Presto, Flink)
  • Experience building applications using Generative AI tools and technologies (LLMs, Vector Stores, LangChain)
