About the Role

The Data Center Chief Engineer oversees critical infrastructure operations in AWS data centers, acting as the primary escalation point for facilities issues and managing electrical/mechanical systems. They lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and team training while ensuring 99.999% uptime for mission-critical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as primary escalation point for all facilities-related issues and oversee critical systems operations
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot within Service Level Agreements
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and help set team culture
• Create and deploy new standard practices for technicians, engineers, and vendor support teams
• Manage projects from conception to completion and coordinate with various support groups

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment
• Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems

Nice to Have:

• 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure
• Knowledge of critical data center equipment and engineering documentation
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, NFPA, NEC, OSHA
• Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations with deep infrastructure understanding
