About the Role
The Data Center Controls Engineer maintains and troubleshoots building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS) in AWS data centers. Responsibilities include project management, system configuration, and technical support for critical infrastructure components. The role involves developing processes, managing contracts, and ensuring reliable operation of mechanical and electrical systems.Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and perform Root Cause Analysis for BMS and EPMS issues
- Develop BMS & EPMS project scope, schedule, budget and manage execution
- Review and implement controls sequence of operation and modify controls logic programming
- Manage BMS and EPMS service contracts and supervise vendor work compliance
- Participate in global on-call schedule to provide immediate technical support
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must Have:
- B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical or related engineering with 3+ years controls experience OR Associates with 5 years OR High School with 8 years
- Experience with industrial controls in critical environments (data center, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, etc.)
- Minimum 2 years experience in Controls or Electrical construction project coordination with multiple teams/vendors
Nice to Have:
- M.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering degree
- Experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting HVAC Controls and Electrical SCADA systems
- TCP/IP, MQTT, BACnet and/or MODBUS communication protocol experience
