About the Role

The Data Center Facility Engineer oversees the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure in AWS data centers. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, troubleshooting equipment, supervising contractors, and maintaining availability. The role requires shift work and on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow and maintain safety standards and culture
• Operate and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment (UPS, generators, HVAC, etc.)
• Troubleshoot events within SLAs and take daily operational readings
• Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance
• Work shifts and participate in on-call rotation for emergencies

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC, Controls) or key electrical competencies and theory

Nice to Have:

• 2+ years of data center engineering operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or equivalent engineering
