About the Role

The Data Center Project Engineer supports construction of AWS data centers by managing communication, tracking design changes, and ensuring quality and safety standards. This role involves daily site interaction, vendor coordination, and document management to deliver high-quality data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish communication and coordination across general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Develop and maintain tracking systems for design changes, RFIs, and change orders
  • Request and review Method of Procedures (MOPs) for detail, necessity, and risk
  • Onboard new vendors for badging and orientation
  • Update project management software with milestones, correspondence, and documents

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of construction or project management experience
  • 2+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems in critical Data Center operations (e.g., CRAC/CRAHs, chillers, pumps)

Nice to Have:

  • 3+ years of construction or project management experience
  • Master's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience working in a data center or mission critical facility (e.g., hospital, military facility)
