About the Role

Data Engineer II role in Amazon's International Seller Services Central Analytics team, designing and building next-generation data and ML infrastructure for GenAI applications. Responsible for creating scalable data solutions, implementing data ingestion routines, and collaborating with engineers on best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate large-scale, high-performance data structures for analytics and data science
• Implement data ingestion routines using best practices in data modeling and ETL/ELT processes
• Translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and operable data architecture solutions
• Collaborate with engineers to adopt best practices in data system creation and data integrity
• Identify opportunities for improvements in existing data solutions

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree
• 3+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
• Experience with one or more query language (SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
• Experience with one or more scripting language (Python, KornShell)
• Knowledge of writing and optimizing SQL queries with large-scale datasets

Nice to Have:

• Experience with big data technologies: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
• Experience with ETL tools like Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage
