About the Role

This is a senior Data Engineer III role at Amazon in Arlington, Virginia, focused on designing and implementing large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics. The position involves developing ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and using OLAP technologies to support data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, test, document, and operate large-scale, high-volume data structures for business intelligence analytics
• Implement data structures using best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, SQL, Oracle, and OLAP technologies
• Provide on-line reporting and analysis using OBIEE business intelligence tools against large, multi-dimensional datasets
• Gather business requirements and translate them into scalable, operable solutions within the overall data architecture
• Mentor junior data engineers and evaluate dataset implementations proposed by peers

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or related field (or Bachelor's with 7 years experience)
• 3 years of experience in data engineering or related role (or 7 years with Bachelor's degree)
• 1 year experience developing large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics
• 1 year experience with ETL/ELT processes, OLAP technologies, data modeling, SQL, and Oracle
