About the Role
This Data Engineer role at Amazon's Workplace Health and Safety team designs and implements scalable data solutions using AWS technologies and big data platforms. The position focuses on building ETL processes, optimizing data pipelines, and enabling self-service analytics to support workplace safety and regulatory compliance worldwide.Key Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver enterprise-scale data infrastructure solutions
- Build and orchestrate complex ETL processes across diverse data sources using SQL and AWS technologies
- Drive data architecture decisions through comprehensive technical documentation
- Streamline reporting workflows and implement automated solutions for stakeholder self-service
- Lead strategic initiatives to optimize data pipelines and improve data accessibility
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in SQL and Python (or any scripting languages)
Nice to Have:
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, BI Engineer, or Systems Analyst in a company with large, complex data sources
- Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
- Experience working with AWS big data technologies (EMR, Redshift, S3, Glue, Kinesis and Lambda)
