About the Role

The Data Scientist will work with the engineering team to model complex problems and identify high-impact opportunities using data. They will research NLP techniques, design experiments, and improve model accuracy for document abstraction. This role involves owning projects and collaborating cross-functionally in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Research new techniques and frameworks for NLP tasks
• Design experiments for data abstraction and categorization of sentences/paragraphs
• Work with lawyers to review results and implement scripts to improve model accuracy
• Run data analysis to design rules for annotation
• Improve data modeling and tooling architecture with Engineering and business partners

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field; graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or another quantitative field
• 2+ years of industry work experience as an analyst, data scientist, or equivalent
• Experience with training and deploying NLP deep learning models
• Exceptional skills in Python, SQL, and any other programming language for data analysis and visualization

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Golang, and/or Git
• Experience with SpaCy, Transformers, PyTorch, or similar NLP framework
• Experience working with ontologies and knowledge graphs
• Experience in MLOps
• Master's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or another quantitative field
