Lead the development of SageMaker's next-generation distributed training systems for AI models. Drive innovation in model customization capabilities and develop optimized training engines for price-performance advantages. Build and scale training applications and tools that simplify AI development while maintaining high performance standards.

• Drive innovation in model customization capabilities with advanced techniques like reinforcement learning and model distillation
• Spearhead development of optimized training engines creating price-performance advantages
• Build and scale training applications and tools that simplify AI development process
• Maintain Amazon's high standards for performance and reliability

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• 5+ years managing managers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with tech and non-tech customers
• Understanding of software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle

Nice to Have:

• Experience building tier-1 ML/AI services
• Experience managing or working with machine learning scientists or applied data scientists
• Exceptional customer relationship skills including discovering true requirements and recommending alternative approaches
