About the Role

As a Founding Backend Engineer at Remo, you will design and build scalable, high-performance applications for AI-powered compliance tools in fintech. You'll tackle complex challenges in financial crime detection and risk management, working closely with the founding team to shape the product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and build backend services that scale to handle high volumes of traffic
• Solve real-world problems in financial crime detection and risk management
• Write high-quality, testable, and readable code that powers our platform
• Take ownership of projects and break down large, complex problems into implementable solutions
• Review code and maintain standards of excellence across the team

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Proven experience writing web applications in languages like TypeScript, Go, Java, Python, or similar
• Strong foundation in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (DynamoDB, Redis)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Ability to work from the Dubai office 4 days per week

Nice to Have:

• A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• Experience in building multi-tenant SaaS platforms
• Experience building fintech or compliance products
