Manager, Advanced Operations Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical and Thermal Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience as a Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability, or Product Engineer.
• 8 years of experience in people management.

Preferred qualifications:

• 6 years of experience in managing programs to improve engineering productivity or a related field (e.g., engineering or development throughput, automation, capacity, cost, speed, or effectiveness).
• Experience in working on components for Data Centers.
• Experience with technical leadership, project management, and executive communication.

The Manufacturing Operations team is responsible for providing the manufacturing capability to deliver this state-of-the-art physical infrastructure. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures behind Google’s powerful search technology. When vendors build parts for our infrastructure, you’re right there alongside ensuring manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. You collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google’s infrastructure needs and product specifications. Responsibilities:

• Lead a team, set and communicate people and team's priorities that support organizational goals. Meet with people to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
• Apply Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) fundamentals and collaborate with teams to help them understand and apply RCCA tools and principles and analyze/understand failure to resolve issues.
• Define and execute data collection activities for technical issues.
• Drive process design, optimization, and qualification activities of a manufacturing process for a component, part, or product.
