About the Role

Principal Applied Scientist role at Amazon's Price Perception and Evaluation team. Responsible for building a self-learning price estimation system using multi-modal data and machine learning. Leads a team to develop neural product relationships and probabilistic price ranges at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and mentor a team of applied machine learning scientists
• Shape long-term vision for science-based competitive pricing techniques
• Partner with product, engineering, and science teams to deploy ML solutions
• Stay updated on ML, NLP, probabilistic forecasting, and optimization advancements
• Develop, deploy, and scale Amazon's next-generation price estimation system

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 5+ years of hands-on predictive modeling and analysis experience
• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical field
• Experience distilling customer requirements into problem definitions
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related language

Nice to Have:

• 10+ years of relevant work in industry or academia
• Knowledge of problem solving, algorithm design, and complexity analysis
• Experience creating novel algorithms and advancing state of the art
