About the Role

Principal Platform System Engineer role at Microsoft's Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering team. Responsible for leading technical teams in designing and developing AI, compute, storage, networking, and accelerator hardware solutions for Microsoft's cloud infrastructure. Focuses on system debug, platform bring-up, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative hardware solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Exhibit strong technical leadership while efficiently overseeing a team of highly skilled engineers
• Collaborate with architecture, silicon engineering, firmware, hardware design, and validation teams to build state-of-the-art AI and compute hardware solutions
• Plan and lead System debug activities and own platform bring-up with SOC, test and validation plans
• Define system behavior and concept of operations for the platform to ensure compatibility with Microsoft Azure datacenter software
• Perform hands-on debugging of critical platform-level issues and develop innovative debugging methodologies

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 7+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience OR equivalent experience
• 8+ years of relevant experience in compute and/or AI systems/platforms design and development
• 8+ years of relevant experience in SOC development
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in compute and/or AI hardware architecture, design, development with solid understanding of hardware, firmware, and Operating System
