About the Role

Research Intern position at Microsoft's AI Frontier Lab focusing on advancing agentic model capabilities. The role involves conducting cutting-edge research in AI, publishing in top-tier venues, and developing models for reliable task execution across digital systems. Interns will work on reinforcement learning, reasoning enhancement, and large-scale model training during a 12-week program.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Accepted or currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science or related STEM field
  • At least 1 year of experience with deep learning and large language model training
  • Physically located at Microsoft worksite for internship duration
  • Submit minimum of two reference letters, cover letter, and relevant work/research samples

Nice to Have:

  • Proven expertise in language model pre-training, post-training, or reinforcement learning
  • Proven publication record in top-tier conferences
  • Demonstrated ability to develop original research in collaborative environment
