About the Role

Research Intern position at Microsoft Applied Sciences Group focusing on computer vision and deep learning to improve Windows user experience. The intern will work on cutting-edge ML/AI applications including video enhancement, augmented reality, and gesture/environment understanding. This is a 12-week internship with mentorship and collaboration opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with researchers and mentors on computer vision research
  • Apply deep learning techniques to analyze multimodal sensor data
  • Interpret human and human-object interactions for human-computer interaction
  • Contribute to research and development in computer vision field
  • Present findings and participate in research community activities

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Currently enrolled in master's program or PhD in computer vision or closely related fields
  • Must be physically located at Microsoft worksite for internship duration
  • Submit minimum of two reference letters
  • Submit cover letter and relevant work/research samples

Nice to Have:

  • Demonstrated publication record in top-tier vision or ML conferences/journals
  • Comprehensive deep learning, algorithmic and software engineering background
  • Experience with self-supervised learning, mixture of experts, and/or dense vision problems
