About the Role
This Sales and Applications Engineer role focuses on technical sales and customer support for AI vision systems in manufacturing. Responsibilities include translating engineering solutions, integrating vision systems, and providing pre- and post-sales support. The position requires travel and a background in engineering or technical sales.Key Responsibilities
- Serve as technical lead to customers, translating complex engineering solutions into clear information
- Collaborate with customers on integrating vision systems, AI, and quality control solutions into production lines
- Provide pre- and post-sales support to ensure successful customer experiences and partnerships
- Drive business growth by selling high-volume solutions (e.g., 20+ cameras)
- Travel 60-80% to meet clients and ensure project implementation and satisfaction
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must Have:
- Background in Engineering or Technical Sales with focus in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation
- 3-7 years experience in Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer, or Technical Sales role within OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or high-volume manufacturing
- Familiarity with vision systems, AI, and quality control solutions
- Must live within ~1 hour of key metros (Detroit, MI; Columbus, OH; Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Indianapolis, IN; Cincinnati, OH)

- Highly adaptable with technical-first, sales-second approach
- Excellent at solving problems, troubleshooting, and presenting complex solutions
- Comfortable working independently and traveling to customer sites
