About the Role

The Security Solution Engineer role at Microsoft's US Public Sector DIB Team focuses on driving security across the development lifecycle. Responsibilities include technical sales, hands-on engagements, and building trusted relationships to modernize security architecture. The role requires expertise in Microsoft security solutions and experience in technical pre-sales or consulting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive technical sales with demos and PoCs to influence solution design
  • Lead hands-on engagements like hackathons and architecture workshops
  • Build trusted relationships with developers and co-design secure architectures
  • Resolve technical blockers and collaborate with engineering teams
  • Maintain deep technical understanding of cloud security architectures

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 3+ years technical pre-sales/consulting experience OR Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years OR 5+ years equivalent experience
  • Experience designing and implementing Information Security solutions with Microsoft Entra, Defender, Sentinel, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Security Development Lifecycle and DevOps security integration
  • Working knowledge of Zero Trust Principles, Threat Modeling, and Security Posture Management
  • U.S. citizenship verification required due to government agency support

Nice to Have:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Security Clearance
  • 6+ years technical pre-sales, consulting, or technology delivery experience
  • 4+ years experience with cloud/hybrid infrastructures and architecture designs
  • Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., Azure, Information Security)
