About the Role

Senior Applied AI Scientist role at Microsoft focusing on developing and integrating cutting-edge AI technologies into customer service applications. Key Responsibilities

• Research and implement state-of-the-art AI using foundation models, prompt engineering, RAG, and multi-agent architectures
• Fine-tune foundation models using domain-specific datasets and evaluate model behavior on relevance, bias, and hallucination
• Build rapid AI solution prototypes, contribute to production deployment, and support MLOps/AIOps
• Translate research into production-ready solutions and measure impact through A/B testing and telemetry
• Ensure responsible AI practices throughout development lifecycle and mitigate ethical/security risks

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field AND 4+ years experience
• OR Master's Degree in related field AND 3+ years experience
• OR Doctorate in related field AND 1+ year experience
• 1+ year experience developing and deploying live production systems as part of a product team
• Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check

Nice to Have:

• Master's Degree in related field AND 6+ years experience OR Doctorate AND 3+ years experience
• 3+ years experience creating publications (patents, libraries, peer-reviewed papers)
• Experience presenting at conferences as invited speaker
• 3+ years experience conducting research in academic or industry settings
• 1+ year experience developing and deploying products through full product cycle
