About the Role

Lead a cross-functional team of scientists and engineers to develop LLM-based solutions and scale AI technologies for Amazon's eCommerce business. Push the boundaries of ML and Generative AI to impact hundreds of billions in revenue. Manage systems and tools at the intersection of science and engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional team of scientists and engineers
• Develop and maintain systems and tools for accelerating knowledge operations
• Push the boundaries of ML and Generative AI techniques
• Leverage Amazon's data sources and computing resources for AI advances
• Ensure software achieves operational goals and impacts customer experience

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 10+ years of building large-scale machine learning and AI solutions at Internet scale
• Master's degree in Computer Science (Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, or equivalent)
• Experience distilling informal customer requirements into problem definitions
• Experience hiring and leading experienced scientists and developing junior members

Nice to Have:

• 10+ years of practical work applying ML to solve complex problems for large-scale applications
• 5+ years of hands-on work in big data, machine learning and predictive modeling
• 5+ years of people management experience
• PhD in Computer Science (Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, or equivalent)
• Experience with big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive
