About the Role

The Senior Applied Scientist will join the AGI team to develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques for Large Language Models and multimodal systems. They will leverage Amazon's data and computing resources to advance generative AI technology that directly impacts customer products and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development of novel algorithms and modeling techniques for LLMs
• Advance state-of-the-art in Large Language Models and multimodal systems
• Work with talented peers to build industry-leading AI technology
• Leverage heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources
• Impact customers through products using speech and language technology

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• PhD or Master's degree with 5+ years applied research experience
• 5+ years building machine learning models for business applications
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
• Programming experience in Java, C++, Python or related language

Nice to Have:

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related field
• Strong experience with model evaluations for multimodal LLMs and GenAI in Computer Vision
• Experience with patents or publications at top-tier conferences or journals
• Experience with popular deep learning frameworks including PyTorch
