About the Role

Senior AI Applied Scientist role at Microsoft focusing on integrating cutting-edge AI technologies into products. Key Responsibilities

  • Research and implement state-of-the-art AI using foundation models, prompt engineering, and RAG
  • Fine-tune foundation models using domain-specific datasets and evaluate model behavior
  • Build rapid AI solution prototypes and contribute to production deployment with MLOps/AIOps
  • Translate research into production-ready solutions and measure impact via A/B testing
  • Apply responsible AI practices to mitigate ethical risks like bias and privacy concerns

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related experience OR equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience with generative AI OR LLM/ML algorithms
  • Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire and every two years
  • Experience in statistics, predictive analytics, or research as per degree requirements

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with MLOps Workflows, including CI/CD, monitoring, and retraining pipelines
  • Familiarity with modern LLMOps frameworks (e.g., LangChain, PromptFlow)
  • Experience developing and deploying live production systems in C#, Java, React/Angular, TypeScript
  • 3+ years of experience publishing in peer-reviewed venues or filing patents
  • 3+ years of experience conducting research in academic or industry settings
