About the Role

The Senior Applied Scientist role involves developing next-generation AI experiences for Microsoft Edge using machine learning and generative AI. Responsibilities include building contextual intelligence models, driving innovation in agentic systems, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver intelligent user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop next-generation AI experiences for Microsoft Edge using machine learning and generative AI
• Advance Edge's contextual intelligence by building models that synthesize browsing history, page content, and user intent
• Drive innovation in agentic systems, prototyping and productionizing conversational, reasoning, and planning models
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate AI capabilities into user experiences
• Own the full AI feature development lifecycle from data pipeline design to continuous improvement

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Master's degree or higher
• Experience applying deep learning techniques and driving E2E AI product development (LLM, Search, NLP, etc.)
• Excellent coding experience in Python, C++, C#, C or Java
• Familiarity with common machine learning/deep learning frameworks like PyTorch/TensorFlow

Nice to Have:

• Advanced degree and/or industry experience
• Project/people management experience (for manager roles)
