About the Role

Senior Applied Scientist role at Microsoft working on Microsoft 365 Copilot, focusing on LLMs, reasoning systems, and real-time orchestration platforms. Responsibilities include designing experiments, developing ML models, and providing technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and run experiments, define and validate metrics, and develop ML pipelines and models
• Partner with Engineering, PM, and Design to translate product vision into scalable architecture
• Work closely with Microsoft Research, Azure, and AI platform teams to bring cutting-edge AI into applications
• Engage with customers and internal teams to understand pain points and drive improvements
• Provide technical leadership to junior scientists and engineers and scale learnings across the product group

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field
• Experience in statistics, predictive analytics, or research
• Ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements including Microsoft Cloud Background Check
• Deep expertise in applied AI and track record of delivering intelligent user-facing experiences at scale

Nice to Have:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical/System Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• Experience in relevant field
• Equivalent experience
