About the Role

Senior Applied Scientist role focused on designing and implementing generative AI solutions for AWS customers. You will collaborate with teams to research, develop, and optimize models, directly interact with customers to solve business challenges, and provide feedback to shape product direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AI/ML scientists and architects to research, design, develop, and evaluate generative AI solutions
• Interact with customers directly to understand business problems and guide implementation of generative AI solutions
• Help customers optimize solutions through model selection, training, tuning, distillation, and hardware optimization
• Provide customer and market feedback to product and engineering teams to define product direction

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

Nice to Have:

• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy
• Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark
