About the Role

Senior Applied Scientist role at Amazon's RBS Tech team focusing on enhancing customer experience through GenAI, NLP, and Computer Vision solutions. Responsible for designing scalable ML models, conducting foundational research, and solving complex CX/SPX problems. Leads innovation in multi-modal understanding, task automation, and AI-driven customer experience improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy scalable GenAI, NLP and Computer Vision solutions impacting millions of customers
• Develop novel LLM, deep learning and statistical techniques for task automation and pattern recognition
• Define research and experiments strategy with iterative execution to develop AI/ML models
• Partner with business and engineering teams to identify and solve large complex problems
• Coach and mentor team members, contribute to professional development and research publications

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• PhD or Master's degree with 5+ years of applied research experience
• Specialization in machine learning, Deep Learning, NLP, Computer Vision, GenAI or related fields
• Strong working knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++, Java, or Python
• Proven ability to relate to and solve business problems through machine learning and statistical algorithms
• Published/presented papers at top-tier conferences (ACL, ICML, NIPS, KDD, CVPR)

Nice to Have:

• PhD degree
• Strong verbal/written communication skills for collaboration with research and technical teams
• Scientific thinking with track record of thought leadership and field advancements
• Solid understanding of machine learning, deep learning algorithms and computational complexity
• Strong CS fundamentals in data structures, problem solving, algorithm design
