About the Role

Lead the Kubernetes security roadmap and team for Microsoft's Infrastructure and Developer Platform, focusing on securing cloud-native workloads and enabling AI-driven development. Establish best practices for Kubernetes security, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor security-focused engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the Kubernetes security roadmap
• Establish and enforce best practices for securing Kubernetes workloads
• Partner with security, compliance, and platform engineering teams
• Lead design and enforcement of secure-by-default configurations for AKS
• Lead and mentor a team of security-focused engineers

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 8-10 years of software engineering experience
• 2-4 years of people management experience
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes security concepts
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes on major cloud providers
• Experience with Terraform, Pulumi, or other IaC tools
• Experience implementing secure CI/CD pipelines and runtime security tools
• Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years' experience in software engineering or equivalent

Nice to Have:

• CKA, CKS, CISSP, or other relevant certifications
• 4+ years experience with workload and container orchestration using Kubernetes
• 4+ years experience with container runtimes
• 4+ years experience working in Linux environments
• Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, CIS Benchmarks, and PCI-DSS
