About the Role

Service Engineer II role on the DevDiv Fundamental Services team, responsible for foundational services including VM/patch management, hardware deployment, and macOS support. The position involves ensuring reliability, security, and operational efficiency for thousands of systems while implementing AI-driven automation solutions. This is a remote role with occasional on-prem lab visits and participation in on-call rotations.

Key Responsibilities

  • VM Management (provision, migrate, decommission Hyper-V VMs)
  • Patch Management for 7,000+ lab machines
  • Hardware Deployment in Managed Lab Services labs
  • Inventory & End-of-Life Management with asset tracking
  • AI-Driven Automation for patching and incident response

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 2+ years technical experience OR equivalent experience
  • 3+ months experience applying AI/ML techniques to infrastructure or service engineering
  • Experience with macOS environments and enterprise deployment tools
  • Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check

Nice to Have:

  • Master's Degree AND 3+ years experience OR Bachelor's AND 5+ years experience
  • 1+ year experience applying AI/ML techniques with Azure ML, Copilot Studio, or GitHub Copilot
  • Experience managing asset lifecycle data and building Power BI reports
