About the Role

This is a Software Development Engineer Intern role focused on AI/ML within Amazon's Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team. The intern will work on developing modeling techniques, optimizing large model training with NVIDIA GPUs, and gaining hands-on experience with Large Language Models and Generative AI applications. The position involves collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to build scalable, cloud-native solutions in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design, build, and operate innovative AI products and services
• Design and develop scalable solutions using cloud-native architectures and microservices in distributed computing environments
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation while following best practices
• Build and maintain resilient, scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems
• Leverage and contribute to GenAI and AI-powered tools to enhance development productivity

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 18 years of age or older
• Experience programming with at least one modern language (Java, C++, or C#) including object-oriented design
• Experience with AI/ML technologies
• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM fields with expected graduation after October 2026

• Previous technical internship(s) or demonstrated project experience
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
