About the Role

The Software Dev. Engineer SDE II role on the Sponsored Products and Brands team at Amazon Ads focuses on building scalable, high-performance systems that integrate ML, LLM, and GenAI to optimize ad ranking, allocation, and pricing. You will design and develop services handling billions of requests daily with millisecond latency, directly impacting millions of shopping journeys. The role involves working on large-scale distributed systems and sophisticated auction logic for Amazon's advertising platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable high-performance systems and services
  • Build services to handle billions of requests per day with millisecond latency
  • Integrate ML + LLM + GenAI models to optimize ad ranking, allocation, and pricing algorithms
  • Maintain and operate the Morales framework supporting hundreds of weblabs
  • Work on distributed systems processing massive datasets and maintaining strict SLAs

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, scaling)
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Experience building large-scale machine learning and AI solutions at Internet scale

Nice to Have:

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, operations)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems
  • Experience in e-commerce, retail, or advertising
