About the Role

Amazon's Retail Business Services (RBS) Tech team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design and build scalable distributed systems that solve complex business problems using cutting-edge technologies like machine learning and LLMs. The role involves developing automation solutions for retail operations, focusing on selection, defect elimination, and operational process support to enhance Amazon's catalog and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop systems for retail business automation using machine/deep learning
• Build robust engineering platforms to solve high-impact business challenges
• Drive best practices, mentor other engineers, and ensure operational excellence
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, team planning, and project ideation
• Create flexible, stable, and performant software with appropriate trade-offs and resource efficiency

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new and existing systems
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices across full development life cycle

Nice to Have:

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience contributing to architecture and design of new and current systems
