About the Role

As a Software Engineer II on the Excel Agent team, you'll design and build AI-powered features that integrate cutting-edge agentic AI with Excel's core functionality. You'll work across client and service layers to deliver reliable, scalable AI solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize AI-powered features and agentic workflows using evaluation, telemetry, and guardrails
• Work closely with product, design, and applied science partners to deliver innovative AI solutions
• Act as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) on-call to monitor feature health and drive incident mitigations
• Break down larger work into well-scoped tasks and deliver tested, maintainable code across client and service components
• Contribute to code quality, reliability, observability, and engineering standards for agentic experiences in Excel

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding
• Proficiency in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python
• Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check and security screenings
