About the Role

Software Engineer II role on Azure Cosmos DB's Livesite Tooling team, building intelligent platforms and AI agents for automated incident triage and mitigation. Focus on service reliability engineering, cloud services, and distributed systems to maintain 99.999% SLA.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement code for product features using best practices
• Act as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for monitoring and mitigating system issues
• Build and maintain cloud services and microservices
• Develop automated debugging technologies and AI agents/copilots
• Collaborate across Azure teams to improve live-site automation tooling

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
• 1+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining cloud services
• Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check
• Experience with coding in relevant programming languages

Nice to Have:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in building and maintaining cloud services
• Understanding of Observability and MELT implementation patterns for large-scale services
• Experience with the Jupyter ecosystem
• Industry/academic experience in prototyping and building AI agents and copilots
